Sample Day of Kids Camp
What does a camp day look like?
While no two camp days are exactly alike, there are some activities that become familiar. Here is what a sample day could look like:
Time | Activity |
---|---|
9:00am | Team Time We’ll get campers signed in and gather the entire camp to go over special events, celebrate birthdays, play some fun games, and dance together to our favorite camp songs! |
9:30am | Arts & Crafts We’ll split into groups based on age and begin our rotations. Groups will participate in Arts & Crafts a few times a week where they will complete theme based projects like picture frames, painted dinosaurs, or masks to name a few. |
10:15am | Field Games We love being outside with friends having fun under the sun. Counselors will lead campers through summer camp games that will get them running around and working together. Groups will often challenge each other and engage in some friendly competition during this time. |
11:00am | Water Play Let’s cool off and splash around! During this time we’ll bring out our water slide moon bounces, water squirters, and more. We’ll water paint, play drip drip drop, and slip and slide down the moon bounce as many times as we want! |
11:45am | Lunch We’ll gather outside to eat our bagged lunches. Together campers will be able to enjoy their food and chat with friends. Once finished they’ll throw away their trash, have a bit of free play if they finish early, then move on to their next activity. |
12:45pm | STEM Activities Our counselors will lead children through epic experiments. Campers will have an opportunity to participate in hands-on activities that are sure to blow their minds. Get ready to make an exploding volcano, create magnetic slime, or build a tower out of spaghetti and marshmallows. Activities usually match the theme of the week. |
1:30pm | Music & Dance Over the course of the week, groups will visit Music & Dance a number of times to work on dances, singing, or improvisation. Twice a summer the camp puts on a parent show, to demonstrate what they have learned. You’ll find that Bar-T has camp classic songs and dances that campers across all of our locations learn and love! |
2:15pm | Group Games & Playground Counselors are encouraged to present the group with choices as to their activities. Choices may include: Dry-Dry-Wet, Knockout, Trivia Scavenger Hunt, or many other great games. During this time campers can join one of the group games going on or adventure and explore with friends on the playground. |
2:45pm | Popsicles + Team Time Let’s join back together for a popsicle! At the end of each day, campers will receive a popsicle and gather for a few final dances, announcements, and dismissal. |
3:30pm | Dismissal Campers will get picked up and signed out by their guardians. They’ll head home and share stories about their wonderful day at camp! |
Note: We reapply sunscreen hourly and provide a complimentary snack to our campers each day.
All of our Kids Camp locations also take a weekly field trip to a local pool. If you’re wondering what a Kids Camp Pool Day looks like, we’ve included a sample below:
Sample Pool Day:

On the bus, counselors will ensure everyone stays seated and safe, then lead them off and to the local pool once the bus arrives. |
11:00am | Arrive at the pool! Here campers will have their swim level assessed, be given a coordinating band based on their level, and be shown which areas of the pool they are allowed to play within.
