Frequently Asked Questions:
What are vouchers?
Vouchers are scholarships given by the State or County to help families with child care costs. Families fill out paperwork and send in documents to apply, then are granted with the voucher.
The scholarship/voucher is a signed agreement between the State, Bar-T, and the parent(s). Once signed, the scholarship is returned to CCS Central for processing. From there, the family is only responsible for paying the State assigned co-payment directly to Bar-T. This payment comes at a highly discounted rate and makes care much more affordable for our families.
How does the process work?
You will first determine your eligibility with Joel based on your income and the number of people in your household. From there, you will either apply through the state or county. You will need to submit an application for scholarship (which requires paperwork). You will need to provide proof of work/employment, income, identity, and address. Joel will help you throughout this process in submitting all necessary documents. The process usually takes about a month (sometimes longer). Once everything has been reviewed and approved, you can begin coming to Bar-T at a largely discounted rate (sometimes at no cost at all).
What will my discount look like?
Your discount/scholarship will depend on your eligibility, household size, and income. That being said, 92% of our families that apply end up coming to Bar-T for FREE! Bar-T does extend a 20% discount to all families who qualify for Free and Reduced Meals (FARMs). If you qualify for FARMs and apply for subsidies, we will automatically provide the 20% discount outlined in the chart below.
