Substitutes
Who substitutes?
We have a variety of substitutes here at Bar-T. Some of our substitutes are high school students who cannot work full time due to homework and after school activities. We also employ substitutes who previously worked full time, but due to new engagements their schedule has become limited. We also have college students who return home on break and we utilize them as seasonal substitutes.
How It Works
Bar-T uses substitutes when full time employees are unable to be at their assigned shifts. Subs are needed on both a daily and full week basis. We do our best to schedule subs in advance, however we sometimes reach out to subs last minute due to staffing emergencies.
How to Become a Bar-T Substitute
Bar-T substitutes spend 1-2 weeks in training at a specific Bar-T training center. When the training is complete, you are ready to substitute!
We will contact you and verify your information, such as: what areas you can work in/get to, what shifts you can work, and the frequency in which you can work.
Once you are added to the substitutes list, a member of our Kids Club leadership team will reach out to you, as needed, to schedule you for substitute shifts.
Please note that substitute shifts can be last minute. We may text or call you the day of shift to see if you are available to work.
Substitute Requirements and Understanding
Substitute positions are not permanent positions. These shifts are assigned on an ‘as needed’ basis. However, we do hire from our substitute list first, depending on the needs of our programs and our substitutes’ availability. If a position becomes available that you have an interest in, let us know.
If we contact you to sub for more than 3 shifts and you are unable to work, we will contact you again to clarify if you want to work. If you do not work shifts, we will take you off of our sub list.
