Kids Club

Our Bar-T Kids Club program is the largest private provider of before and after school programs for children in Montgomery and Frederick County. We strongly believe that children need to have choices, and we provide a variety of opportunities for children each day. At Bar-T Kids Club, we allow our children to choose which clubs, games, sports leagues, and special events they would most enjoy.

All Kids Club locations open at 7:00am and operate until school begins. We reopen at school dismissal and close at 6:30pm. While most Kids Clubs operate within MCPS school buildings, we do offer programs at Poolesville Baptist Church and Mountainside (Mountainside After School Club in Urbana, MD) and provide transportation to and from school each day. Bar-T Poolesville provides care for Poolesville ES and Monocacy ES families. Mountainside After School Club (MAC) provides care for children at Urbana MS, Urbana ES, Centerville ES, Green Valley ES, & Sugarloaf ES.

Clubs

Children are able to select which clubs they wish to participate in each month. These can range from cooking, to dance, to magic. Our staff do their best to make sure a variety of options are given, and that the children in our care are able to choose the one that most intrigues them.

Homework

Study Hall is an optional club offered each day except Friday, and our expert staff are present with whatever knowledge and supplies your child needs to complete their work. We keep an open dialogue between teachers and parents to make sure each child’s academic needs are being met each day. If you child has homework they wish to complete at Bar-T they will have the time and resources to do so, otherwise children may use the time to explore other clubs and play.

Hours

Bar-T Kids Clubs open Monday through Friday at 7:00am and remain open until school begins. Our afternoon program begins when school ends and we remain open until 6:30pm.

Calendar

Bar-T Kids Club provides morning and afternoon care for families during the school year. We follow the public school systems’ calendars and are open for when school is closed for professional days, winter break, spring break, and most snow days. Inclement Weather

Bar-T follows the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Administrative Offices closing status. If MCPS Administrative Offices are closed or opening late, Bar-T will be closed or will open at the same time as Administrative Offices. If Montgomery County Public Schools are closed, but the Administrative offices are open, we will we open as soon as we are able to be in the building. You and your child’s safety, and our staff’s safety, are paramount in these situations.

If an evacuation of the school premises is necessary, we will call and inform parents that they, or an emergency contact, need to come pick up their child. Typical types of these evacuations are loss of heat or loss of power. We currently have several ways to notify parents and staff of any changes to our opening or closing status:

• We will immediately alert families via email.
• We will list our opening status on local news channels (FOX, NBC, CBS and ABC news).
• The Bar-T Kids Club Facebook page will be updated.
• The Bar-T website (www.Bar-T.com) will be updated.
• The outgoing phone message will be changed on our landline and cell phone to reflect our status.

Every family’s needs are unique, so we’ve designed our program to have a variety of options when it comes to the days and times you’d like your child to attend. From full time care where your child joins us every morning and afternoon to drop-in care when you need it, we’ve got you covered.

We understand that care for your child is a financial investment that families make and we do not take that lightly.
